just an update, here is a quick shot of the tree now after it has been a couple of weeks since i defoliated and this thing is just going crazy, i am going to have to trim again as the growth is just rampant and not growing in any particular direction, so a bit of refinement will be needed, i am thinking of clip and grow as i would like to keep it tight :D

hey people :D

update time :D i have finally worked out what direction i am taking this tree, it is not a formal broom. and just for rod, nor am i gonna try and make it a SUMO

after letting it grow out a lot more from the last pic, it has received a few trims, i havent got any of those pics as the camera SD card got deleted, so i only have what i have here, but as you know these things just go absolutly nuts!

ok here it is after a few trims. note the extension of the low branches.(this is important to the design) these are thickening quite quickly. the one on the right is as thick as a pen from when it was last shot, and extends about a foot and a half.
celtis after a bit of a cut back.jpg
the top cut off to decide on a new leader and shorten the overall height. this is important to the design aswell!

new leader.

so can anyone tell where i am going with this tree? i will be doing a sketch or virt very shortly, but would like to see if any one can pick up what i am planing. i have put a few hints in this post, it should be quite easy to pick up on ;)
