some final colour

ill update this thread as some other trees come into colour in the shohin section ill post a few more too. , some have already dropped already while others are thinking about it. the large trident is always one of the last to colour just starting to turn now. a few more seasons on that apex which is currently grafted and a new shallow pot which i have and the tree could be tops .also my garden ginko tree in colour. my fav tree in the garden i think

Beautiful autumn colours in your neck of the woods Noah, the ginkgo is superb. I work in a garden at Mt Dandenong which has a great specimen of Lindera Japonica, it has the best yellow autumn colours I have ever seen, you should try to find one for your garden.

ill have a look around we have one nursery here i deal with who is pretty good and if they dont have it maybe able to get it in. does it have a common name and how big can they get? im chasing a mature japanese maple grafted variety WATERFALL i have a small one in the garden and its colour was amazing! i want a bigger one

the place is looking not too bad atm i have 2 large liquid ambers in the front of the garden that are turning, messy trees but they do provide shade etc for my dwarf maples etc. i just planted 300 tulips yestaday with 250 still to do. it should look pretty nice come spring.

Hi Noah, Lindera is a small tree, palmatum size and needs a bit of protection from the hottest sun, Yamina in Monbulk stock them. There is one in the bonsai museum in Omiya.
With regards to your maple try Nishiki who posts here from time to time he grows beautiful disectums and lots of cultivars

Beautiful Ginko Noah, stunning colour. I have a"Waterfall" and purchased it from Dicksonias rare plant nursery in Macedon.Also got my Rhus from there. I am not promoting them but they have some unusual trees.

Yes Bodhi, dicksonia is a great nursery but you need a fairly thick wallet, waterfall is reasonably freely available up here. I have Rhus suckering all over the place on my nature strip.

ill try to get some more pics up sat. the weather is going to turn nasty late tomorrow apparenty with rain all sunday ,monday. That large trident has turned alot in just 24 hours when i was out there tonight.

Are you talking toxidendron Craig I purchased "Rhus Pulvinata Autumn lace" but i am keen to try toxidendron for their autumn display. have you tried them Craig

I haven't tried them yet Bodhi but I have a mulch pile down there and was loading up the barrow and noticed one of the older ones has a nice curved trunk and the bark is starting to crack so it may get dug up this winter. I think they would only be grown for autumn colour

3 days later and things are changing quick, most of my trees are completely naked now but here is that trident showing some more colour.
