Re: AABC Convention 2012
Just got home after some delays, but didn't matter as I'm still on a high, although a bit tired, after a sensational weekend. Great to catch up with old friends and meet new ones. Glad I got to put some faces to you guys.
Boon was amazing and the best I have seen in this country. I know he wants to come back, and I don't think anyone would argue. The information he delivered with ease while working on so many trees was inspiring to watch. If you didn't learn anything over the weekend, sorry, but you must have been asleep.
Thankyou to the BNW team for a great weekend and a magnificent display. Man I want some of those Pines.

Does anybody know who the sellers were with quite a big stand at the back right of the sales area, the chap was wearing a blue fleece jumper? hoping to contact them about some stock.

Re: AABC Convention 2012
I echo everyone else. Tony was the only reason we all stayed up at the bar and his jujitsu skills to drag us back for more were unparalleled. Tony, remember to bring the hat again next year.
Looks like I need to practice my wiring after the workshop where Boon made me rewire twice! And I guess I need to stop plucking my Juni's. Plus I saw Don invent the enema style.
More importantly I got to meet some great folk, saw plenty of good trees and enjoyed a tour of Melbournes nurseries.
Just wish we'd bought the trailer and loaded up.
See you next year in Canberra.
Thanks to bonsai north west for a fantastic weekend.

Re: AABC Convention 2012
Hi Everyone,
Its great to jump on to Ausbonsai today and read the positive feedback from everyone who attended.
It's a great feeling knowing so many people loved the event we put on. A huge amount of organisation goes into an event this large so hearing positive comments is wonderful.
I have over 600+ photos to sort through and load to our website over the next few days so look forward to that. I will post some here as well.
Whoever attended, I am sure thoroughly enjoyed Boon and his style and teachings. He was truly awesome and very humble too. Having him work on 4 trees at a time on stage lept everyone glued. All up 7 trees were worked during the demonstration days. I have never seen this before anywhere. He was brilliant. That's what everyone was there to see. A true bonsai master, on stage, teaching for 4 hours on each day. The room was packed all day long. It was awesome.
Lots of photos still to come.
Thank you everyone who came along and supported bonsai in Australia.
David

Re: AABC Convention 2012
I had such a great time at the convention. A massive thanks you to all who helped make it such a brilliant event! High quality sales area, stunning exhibition, great venue, delicious food, excellent demonstrators... the list just goes on. Bonsai Northwest have ticked all the boxes
Now, I know what goes on at a convention - stays at the convention... but I do have a few 'censored' pictures to share.
And now for some trees...
I learned so much, was inspired to improve my bonsai, made some great friend and had a really good time. To everyone who I chatted with, drank with, sat next to or shared the event with - thank you for helping make it what it was.
I can't wait for "The Australian Journey" in Canberra next year!
Regards,
Steven

Re: AABC Convention 2012
to bonsai northwest, thank you once again for a fantastic convention. I did not think you could top your last one but you did. Boon has to be the most informative demostrator I have seen for a very long time.

Re: AABC Convention 2012
The AABC Convention for 2012 was a great convention. It had great artists, with some amazing results. Boon was very good and displayed his skills to the enjoyment of all the delegates. Don De Luca did an excellent demonstration to show what can be achieved with little material. A great weekend.
Now for the 2013 AABC Convention, to be held in Canberra in its Centenary Year. It will be a look at the Australian Journey in bonsai. A history of the past, who, where and what. Have a look at the Canberra Bonsai Society's website, http://www.cbs.org.au and you will be surprised.
