Whent on a olive hunt an found this :)
Took my three kids on an olive hunt yesterday found a nice olive below are some pictures. Hopefully if all goes well should have shoots in 2-4 weeks an be able to train basic design by Christmas they grow fast in the right conditions in South Australia.
The olive is about 80cm tall only branch alive is the one that goes to the left.

I was told at the last club meeting by and olive fan that Brown hill creek is a great spot. I'm keen as mustard but I'm not sure now is the right time of year though?

Tell you a funny story about Brown Hill Creek as well. Last visit to Adelaide (Bonsai wise) must have been 10 or 11 years ago. Went to a Bonsai Club meeting with the before mentioned two ladies and when asked what I was doing while in Adelaide I replied I was going to Brown Hill for some Olives and maybe an Ash or 2. Reply was I was wasteing my time as Brown Hill Creek had been dug out and there was nothing worth collecting there anymore. I ended up getting 6 or 7 trees in the morning, all good subjects. Good to hear the park has still been dug out, with nothing worth collecting there. Shepherds Hill was another area not worth digging in either.
