Hi all,

Bought this bonsai starter because of the colour of the trunk last winter.

I didnt ask at the time what it was and have no idea what it is (place has now closed down too)...leaves are fairly soft to the touch

any ideas would be greatly appreciated

reminds me of chinese quince-----some clearer photos would help

Yeah, thats what I initially thought when I saw it too, but the quality of those pics is bad for an ID. If you are that keen to be sure, just wait 'til winter next year and if it is quince, it will let you know in winter when it produces a beautiful bouquet of flowers for you.
