2017 Australian Plants as Bonsai Exhibition - Canberra
Hi all
The APaB Symposium and National Exhibition are being held in Melbourne this year, hosted by the VNBC (see the separate thread). Grevillea and I will be down and are looking forward to a great weekend. I'm not sure who else is coming from Canberra.
But before that, for those who are in Canberra over the weekend of 25-26 February, CBS is hosting a local exhibition of bonsai created by CBS members at the Australian National Botanic Gardens.
Full details are on the CBS website - http://www.cbs.org.au
Hope to see some interstaters there!

Eucs and banksias will dominate this year's exhibition!
Hoping to see some of the AusBonsai community there

It will definitely be a contest between the eucs and banksias, but there will be a number of other interesting, and in some cases rare as bonsai, species in the display. And we also have a great size contrast, from the very large (1.1m high and wide) to tiny shohin (smallest is a mere 20cm).

Overall it's shaping up to be a great display.

See you there.

Hope to get there tomorrow for a look around. Previous years has been very inspirational so am looking forward to it.

Half way thru the first morning already! Lots of visitors.. Nice and cool, so should be a good weekend!
Sorry you won't make it Rory and Lane.
JohnL took photos of all the trees this morning, and they'll be posted on the CBS website ( http://www.cbs.org.au ) on the 'Native Show galleries' page. You can see photos from the exhibitions back to 2005 on that page. Great to see how our styling of Australian plants has evolved over time.
I've just tried to load a couple of photos... Doesn't seem to have worked - sorry - technician failure.
