Trouble developing ramifications
Hi, I have just defoliated my ficus and noticed very little development of the ramifications over the last couple of years, what am I doing wrong?
Should I be cutting the branches back more? I usually just remove the leaves and nip the growing tips.
I am a slow learner.

Yes, I cut the branches back in the strong growing season which usually promotes multiple shoots soon afterwards.
It depends on how ramified you want it and where, but any branch thicker than about 5-6mm should produce good results from this.
Branches thinner than this I usually wait to thicken a bit more.
