Looking at its best

Post by Gerard »

Today a friend asked if I would take some photos of his wisteria while it was at its best,
WIsteria 006.jpg
the show lasts only a few short weeks but I was lucky enough to see it up close.

That is incredible. Well worth the waiting for the rest of the 50 odd weeks of the year. Mine didn't make one flower at all. I've been reading up and some seem to say feed like crazy while others say treat 'em mean. All seem to agree that being potbound helps so I am hoping for better luck next year when its filled its pot some more. Thanks for the pic, sensational :worship:

Very nice tree and very well photographed. Mine has not bloomed as yet but it looks like a stunning year for Wisteria. Maybe you can photograph mine when it flowers.

Gerard, thanks for sharing pics of your friends Wisteria, they are truly spectacular when in full bloom. I would love to know how big it is.

Neal, Its definitely worth the 50 weeks a year... Age is a large factor in flowering.

Bodhi, does this mean your going to let your old grand old girl flower this year?

You guys in the cold climates have more fun at this time of year. Mine got 2 flowers this year and I commented on the cold winter we had.

Hi Matt,
My best estimate is 100cm tall and 150cm wide.

Some people might remember this tree was highlighted on the promotional flyer for the Bonsai Northwest Show, two years ago

Thanks Chipper,
I too have been waiting for 3 or 4 years but flowers are about to burst for the first time, I think they will be white but I am not certain.
It is a nice one for me to watch with anticipation.
Of course mine is not in the same class as this stunner.
