ANOTHER WORKSHOP WITH MAURO STEMBERGER

Just one week after my first meeting with Mauro in Sydney I backed up for another workshop with him, this time in Canberra.

The tree I had this time is a Juniper x media possibly, or it could be a Juniper Sabina and one day soon I will have it positively identified. This tree was dug in 2011 and has lived in a polystyrene box since it was dug.

This tree has a wild and strange look about it and I was very interested to see what Mauro thought of it, and what outcomes he could design for it.

Well again I was very impressed with his skill and vision and the end product gives me hope that I may now be able to turn this into a bonsai in the coming years. Some care over the winter months and then hopefully it will power away with plenty of water and fertilizer. A new pot in the near future will also improve this tree and I am on the lookout for something suitable.

It was unfortunate that there are not many photos of this tree being worked on as I didn’t have time, but moving a branch from one side of the tree to the other was a fascinating experience, and it has worked out very well.
