During 2017 it is my intention to post a photo of one of my bonsai each week for the whole year, starting on 1 January 2017.

For me this is an ambitious aspiration but I am hopeful that I will be able to see it through, however I may need some help with a few reminders throughout the year if I start to fall behind.

The first one for the year is a Callistemon (Bottle brush) but I am not sure which variety. This was dug from a location where new sewer lines were to be installed and so I save it from certain death.

It is an Australian native, it does flower, it is in the windswept style and I hope you enjoy week one of the quest.
