PINK FLOWERING HAWTHORN

The real name for this as I understand it is Crataegus laevigata ‘rosea flore pleno’ however I can’t be 100% sure as this was dug in the local area and as such it might be a cross between other varieties.

But, it was dug in 2011 from a location where there was very poor soil but since it has been at my place it has powered on. It is in the standard “soil” mix that I use for all my trees, gets regular fertilizer and water, and sprayed if there are any “nasty’s” around.

This year it has rewarded me with a good flower display which is pleasing. The tree itself needs more work but its coming along and in a couple of years I would like to exhibit it if it continues to improve at the same rate.

Possible new front

A closer look at the flowers.
