I found one in Hedland... Of all places. But before I ask the owner of I can have it (swap it for a palm or something) I want to know that it's not too late!
Hmm. Mid 30's is pretty hot! If it's a matter of digging now or missing out I would risk it but rather than remove soil from the roots, I would possibly take as big an amount of soil as possible and put it straight back in a well drained hole in the ground at your place and wrap shade cloth over the whole thing. That way you would not have issues with root rot and you leave root disturbing to a minimum. Then you can work on it at the right time next year.
If you can collect it later, then maybe leave it till then.
I find that with junipers there is no problem removing all the soil ( at the right time of year) from a ground grown plant and I prefer to do it straight away but sooner or later you MUST remove all the original soil.
After care is standard, Pot size just big enough for the roots, coarse sandy mix (if you bare root). Semi shade for a month or two. Spray the leaves a lot.
Also leave many full length leaders on the plant for quick establishment. (in other words don't prune too many long bits)
