The trunk is fabulous.
The ramification is developing very well.
I actually don't mind the root to the left at all, it looks untouched and natural.
I actually love the thick natural looking snapped off top of the tree, rather than the painful pointy contrived jin that everyone seems to produce these days.

I am not a fan of the 'traditional triangle' of the overall foliage, but that is just my perception.

Your work is good Adam. Tell me, does the trunk come toward the viewer as it leaves the ground? If so, you consider turning it a few degrees so this does not occur. It's a bit hard to tell. Can you post more pics?
Personally, I would not worry too much about refinement yet. The basic work is done and now you can just let the tree grow and strengthen before the next round.

Here's how it looked not long after digging.. Unfortunately this is from the opposite side and I don't seem to have any taken from its current front. As you can see, it's had quite a journey to get to where it is.

To answer some of the questions,

it doesn't really belly out towards the viewer. If it does, it's only negligible. Yes, my Plan from here is to leave it alone and enjoy for the year and enjoy it.

Great idea on filling that open area with moss under the left hand root. I'll try it.

The right hand low floating Jin.... I never actually noticed it until you pointed it out... I now can't stop looking at it.

The tenjin, I like it as it and will leave it.

My only criticism would be that i'd prefer to see the apex slightly lowered just a bit, to be made into a more rounded and aged looking canopy. But i'm really clutching at straws here. This tree is f ing awesome

I second that. I would have dismissed the raw stock as unsuitable. Kudos to you on seeing the potential. Even more kudos on the great job that you have done.

Also, really nice to see you considering some of the constructive comments offered - many say 'constructive criticism welcomed' and then say 'I don't agree and will leave it as is'.

Hi Webos , mate that has come up a treat , might consider doing a little work on another trunk myself inspired by this tree , I have Been slack as lately with bonsai , fishings the new hobby . I too would like to see a few more pics of this ripper .

Hey there Gerard, Salvatore, Bjorn and Hiro were all different trees to this one. The trees I worked on with Salvatore (if you could call it that. He just came along, chopped 5 branches, without explanation, then said "finished"), and Hiro were both Junipers dug from the same site as this one, but different specimens. The tree I worked on with Bjorn was a very different type of juniper but of similar dimensions to these. Dug from a different site altogether. All easily mistaken for each other because they were all nothing but big giant bushes when I first started work on them.
